In a town hall today, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said that as president, he would ensure that 50,000 “illegal” Irish immigrants residing in the United States could find a “path to citizenship:”
There are 50,000 Irish men and women who are in this country illegally at this time, who are hard-working people, who want to become citizens. And I want to assure you that we will enact comprehensive immigration reform, after they do certain things, obviously, give them a path to citizenship in this country as part of an overall immigration reform package.
Wow, that's such an old article 2008, that I am unsure his stance today although I have read he is still pro-amnesty yet has lost foothold due to the strong controversy. I am sure all illegal aliens would be included if amnesty were to be given, but it just isn't going to happen. And thanks for the Happy St. Patrick's Day! Backatcha!
Illegal alien Irish? Throw the bums out. Especially factoring in that Irish nationals can head anywhere within the Schengen Area of Europe to live legally.
The majority of “undocumented Irish” young people living illegally in America come from Fermanagh and Tyrone, the Assembly had been told.
But new President Barack Obama intends to tackle the problem, according to Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness.
Reporting on his recent week-long trip to the US, Mr McGuinness said the issue came up constantly.
There is an estimated 2,500 to 3,000 illegal Irish in the US, with the majority coming from Fermanagh and Tyrone.
Mr McGuinness said: “The issue of the undocumented Irish came up consistently and persistently at many of the engagements in which we were involved.
“There is no doubt that it is a matter with which the new Administration will grapple.
Quote:
I'm an American of Irish descent living and working legally in Ireland for the past three years. Despite the support the Irish government are seeking for undocumented Irish in the US, they are doing NOTHING for Americans here. I've been told (despite my qualifications and contributions to society) that I will not be allowed to keep my job or be issued a new permit to work here simply because I am a non-EEA national! This is madness! It's discrimination!

Another glaring case of entitlement. Obey the laws of Ireland if you are there or want to go there. Just because they are Americans doesn't garner any special treatment.
You know that and I know that but; the illegal alien apologists try to throw a hissy fit when confronted with that pearl of wisdom.
