Homeland Security tepid on Rick Perry's request for more border enforcements | News for Dallas, Texas | Dallas Morning News | Latest News

"...Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano this afternoon brushed off Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s request for surveillance planes and 1,000 fresh troops along the Mexican border.

That drew swift denunciation from the governor, who put state police and other assets on standby, citing the heightened risk of spillover violence from Mexico’s drug war.

Napolitano said she would “look at Governor Perry’s request,”

Isn't he the governor who advocates secession from the Union; who thinks that the feds should stay out of business decisions and states' independence, and states' internal decisions? And isn't Perry the one thinks Texans are a very resourceful bunch?

Like most rabid anti-government "patriots", Perry likes to shoot off his mouth about the evils of President Obama and the Feds.

But when the going gets tough, he's standing in line, just like the rest of the "patriots", with their hands held out, begging for Federal help and money. Where's all that grand Texas independence and their ability to self-rule? Want to secceed from the Union? Hate the US government? Go ahead and knock yourselves out.

Granted, this is too important an issue to merely 'take things into consideration' as Napolitano said. That I find equally ridiculous to ignore requests for help, even if it comes from alleged "patriots."

I've never been a fan of Rick Perry but I would think that if somebody gets a dirty bomb across the border it may be headed to DC or NYC.

Hey now, that's an insult to sniveling little female dogs.

Napolitano needs to "man up" on border security. Maybe she can go to Janet Reno and ask for her pair.

If Napalitano would send as many troops to the border as Reno sent to Waco the illegals crossing into Texas would be over.

Perry is covering his bases as any good governor does. When Napolitano refuses aid she has absolutely no say over Perry using the resources within Texas that are at his disposal. Nada.

the border is considered national security, unless you dont mind the governor putting national guard troops on the border with orders to shoot anyone coming across the border illegaly.

how do you think the wench would react to that one?

ICE works for DC, DC works for corporate america, who want cheap foreign labor, with or without papers. we used to have powerful unions that would have put that to a stop, but they be gone.
rugged individualism replaced them.
