I have been in combat. More times than I care to remember. But my worst duty, my worst memories are of being ordered to stand down and watch. Watch as unarmed defenseless people were being mistreated and abused.
Why have us there if not to help those who can't help themselves?
In this case.
Our guys will play in the heat, among the scorpions and snakes and their job will be to observe. Not to do anything of value just observe. Its a blatent waste of money, man power and effort. Its a misuse of our NG.
For what? So that the Dems can say see we tried to help?

Yeah but just about everyone can see it's a political ploy so they can say "look what we did, we sent troops to the border (never mind the fact that they just sent some National Guardsmen to play secretary and map reader to the Border Patrol) now let us ram through amnesty".
Wake me up when they send 250,000+ real soldiers from the regular Army with orders to perform actual border security operations and directly engage any drug cartel forces found on our side of the border.
