Rauner said he would support it if there was property tax relief and reform. The dems did neither.

Not sure how people expect there to be no income tax increase given the state's financial woes?
Easy; spend less, and live within your means, the way normal people and many other states do!!!!!

There is no reform in this budget and it is not "bipartisan". It should be vetoed. Madigan is simply using public pressure to force the same fecal matter budget he always comes up with.

15 Republicans voted for the tax increase. I guess we wait for Rauner to veto and wait for things to get even worse? Not sure that's a good solution either. If Rauner has a way to achieve a balanced budget without a tax increase why hasn't he detailed his plan yet?

no matter what Rauner would propose, suggest, or even talk about, the Dems who have ruined this state completely wont even give him the time of day
until the tax and spend mentality of every democrat in this state changes, Illinois cant move forward..
spending MUST be reduced, or this will go on forever here..

And yet without a budget the state will spend an estimated $39MM or ~10% more than the amount approved in SB 6...So how is that better (assuming spending is really the biggest issue)?

its not better; either way, this state is fiscally doomed, unless spending is reduced at least 20% from current levels..and, remember, as more and more people flee this nightmare state, revenues will drop off even more...

The biggest issue both parties must address are the pensions and benefits that they have given to themselves.

Here are the 15 House Republicans that betrayed us! >

Republicans voting yes (15): Andersson, Bryant, Cavaletto, Davidsmeyer, Fortner, Hammond, D. Harris, Hays, Jimenez, Meier, B. Mitchell, Phillips, Pritchard, Reis, Unes.

Write them to let them know how you feel and to reconsider their vote and not attempt to override Rauner's veto! If we can just get a few to change their minds, Rauner's veto will hold!

You can look up their contact info here > Illinois General Assembly - House Members
