Agreed; in Illinois the choices usually come down to

Douchebag or **** Sandwich
. Still, anyone who thinks that Quinn has shown any promise whatsoever at leading this state out of a time of crisis is drinking the kool-aid. I just wish that Brady would stay away from social issues like a state constitutional amendment re marriage. This election is about the economy and the deficit, not red meat social issues.

But then again this same group has never endorsed a Dem in the past.

Quinn is in trouble. I do not think even Obama can help him now. In fact, Obama is probably hurting him.

Crazy news from the voting machine department. It looks like city Dems are doing everything they can (under the radar) to keep votes with Quinn. 23 wards have a lot of votes in Chicago.

"The last name of Green Party gubernatorial candidate Rich Whitney is misspelled as "Whitey" on electronic-voting machines in nearly two dozen wards -- about half in predominantly African-American areas -- and election officials said Wednesday the problem cannot be corrected by Election Day".

Brady may be from downstate, but given his views on social issues and his track record for voting on issues that bolster outright discrimination, he doesn't represent me as someone from downstate. My feeling is that a vote for Brady in Illinois would be like a vote for Paladino in New York, and I would hate to see either of those two men in charge of states as powerful as IL or NY.

I personally don't like Quinn or Brady. Scott Lee Cohen is as good as either, and that's scary. Voting in this election is going to be crap either way.

The OP asked how anyone could vote for Quinn when he "ran with" Blagojevich. In Illinois the Governor and Lt. governors races are completely separate. They don't run together. They could be mortal enemies and wind up serving together.

They run together in the general election.
