I have driven the Indiana toll road and been in near white out conditions in one spot then travel a few miles and the sky is clear and then get right back into a snow band.

Its really an odd winter set up.
I have also purposely driven over to ND and took some pictures of the campus after a snow event its just an incredible sight. So peaceful.
you just cant replicate the beauty that mother nature provides
Yep. Theres a picture on Wikipedia of Downtown Indy in feb with a snow layer it just looks like someone dropped some white paint on the area. such a cool thing to see.

Yes , being from the Midwest we truly get to experience the beauty of all 4 seasons.
Right now IMHO is the best time of year (few weeks ) just when the leaves turn

Yeah its cold from about mid November to early April. I lived there my whole life. I'm now in CA on the central coast and kinda miss the bad weather back home lol. The endless sunshine is over rated, sb don't get too much sun. ND is a great school but if you don't want the cold I recommend USC or a college west of Texas. Whatever you choose good luck! Sb ain't that bad.

Lol as they say California has lost its golden age. Hence why people are leaving California for Texas/Indiana/Flordia amongst other states.
