Hello, I am currently working at a medical warehouse called Concordance Healthcare Solutions in Grand Prairie, Texas I do not like this area. I prefer a more rural setting. I grew up 60 miles outside of Chicago in a town of 2000 people. It was a quaint agricultural town. My company has a warehouse operation in Shelbyville, and I am planning to ask for a transfer. But first things first. I need to figure out the housing. I will be renting. I would like to find a house to rent for myself and my cats. I went to Craigslist. I figured Shelbyville housing rental listings would be on the Indianapolis section, but I couldn't find any. What would be a good place to look for rentals? Thank you.

I do not know most of the rental sites and what will show you cheapest or biggest selection.

However, while Shelbyville is not that far from Indianapolis, I would not consider it Indianapolis area for rental and housing market searches.

Just typing Rental Homes in Shelbyville, Indiana brought up these 2 sites linked below and another 2 that were blocked by my company's filters. Probably more sites than that but I didn't look too much into it.
https://www.zillow.com/shelbyville-in/rent-houses/
https://www.rentals.com/Indiana/Shelbyville/

I would also look into Franklin, IN. It's about a 20 minute drive between the two cities, but might give you the small town feel you are looking for, but more housing options (maybe cheaper since more options). Franklin is also closer to any shopping, entertainment you might like, but again will be a slower feel. Kluch responds on these forums pretty regularly and recently moved there from Chicago area and might know the rental market and sites better than I.

Hope that helps some.

I would look on Zillow. Also we rent a single family home through tricon residential and have had a positive experience with them. They usually have multiple rentals available in both Shelbyville and Franklin (where we currently reside).

Shelbyville is a nice town and big enough that any popular website for rentals should be listing Shelbyville as a searchable city/zip code area. The city is large enough that there should be at least a handful of rentals available at any given time.

Find a local realtor and call them. Better yet go into their office
