In fairness to Shrek, he's from Chicago ... a midwesterner. I'm sorry it hasn't worked out for you moving to the midwest. Sorry, but your complaints are about the midwest vs. the East Coast ... what were you expecting?

Default don't believe all you read...

I have to differ with AKF on a few things. For one, Chicago is an island in the middle of the Midwest. Visiting Chicago doesn't really let you know what the Midwest is about. Having worked and lived in Wisconsin and Minnesota I know that people from the East coast have a hard time adapting here. You will probably fare better if you're originally from the Midwest. If you're the type of person who has to go out every weekend to a new event or show or play or restaurant, you will be bored here. HOwever, if you're planning to have kids, you'll be too busy to worry about that kind of stuff anyways and then WL./L is a fine place to live. WL has one of the best school districts in the state, but the taxes on the WEst side are pretty high. You should be able to find a decent house in your price range in WL. THis isn't exactly the ideal place to live, but it's a great place to raise your kids and my husband has a 5 minute commute from work (no, he doesn't work at Purdue), and there's a good Indian restaurant 12 blocks from my house and an even better Japanese place 2 miles from my house, so I"m pretty satisfied.

I"ll check back to see if you have any specific questions for me since I"m a current resident!

So, using your logic then, a person from NYC knows all about living in New York State?

Your angry tone says a lot ...
