Vinyl siding doesn't hold up as well over time as brick. Many of these lots are small and without trees, leaving little to focus on but the house. Plus everything Humboldt said.

Builders in other areas of the country I've lived in are required to add trees and landscaping to the property and many towns have a street tree ordinance by the roadside or tree lawn. This adds to the desirability and value of the properties over time.

You mean like the way brick homes look in places like north St. Louis city.

Trees and landscaping are requirements in Fishers, too.

They should be required across the board anywhere IMO. Trees and landscaping are a fraction of the cost compared to the house itself.
