I have a seminar at Eskenazi Health for 2 weekdays in June. I am looking for hotels near there, not more than $120/night. Most of the hotels are about 8 miles west, 20 minute drive per Mapquest.

How is the traffic around 7-730 am? Will it be more likely a 45-1 hour drive?

Any tips would be appreciated. I used to do Naval reserve duty in Indianapolis about 20 years ago, haven't been there since

If you tried a hotel along I65 at the Southport or County Line Road exits(they are fairly new and with easy access), entry onto I65 would be better than before (construction is finished and road is wider) and it is a straight shot to Dr. Martin Luther Drive exit which is on Left of I65/I70 downtown and then a very very short drive to Eskenazi. Parking is what will take the longest. I don't like driving but this route is doable for me. If there is an accident on I65 and you have to make a detour, Madison on the east is a straight shot downtown but with lights. Will take longer but doable.

I make these trips several times a week and they are ok. I think it would be about 30 minutes with no accidents.

I would pull up Travelocity. I do all my initial research there. I found some great deals downtown in June. There are some great bed and breakfasts, like The Inn and the Nestle Inn that have a few openings. They are right downtown not far from me and a nice walk to restaurants. La Quinta not so much.
