Hello, I have a few questions for everybody. I currently live in NYC and I have been here my whole life and I hate it.

Everything is super expensive and It's not worth living here anymore. I have been to Indianapolis many times for Colts games and I loved it. My fiance and I are thinking of moving to town.

Question 1 - Are there office jobs available (executive assistant type stuff)? 2 - How are housing prices so low and foreclosure rates so high?

We are mainly concerned about job availability.

Any other information you could tell me would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

Well, you can always start applying for jobs from NYC and see if you get any nibbles. I think you'll be able to find jobs in your industry though. Can't really answer on the foreclosure rate except that some folks got in over their heads for whatever reasons, people taking out exotic loan products, losing jobs ...

Take a look on job boards to see whats out there.

Indy is frequently named the most affordable housing in the nation, and last year we were all the way down to number 18 in foreclosure rankings.

Thanks for the quick replies.

I really would like to get into the affordable housing market.

I will be looking into how the job situation soon is by taking a short vacation to Indy to feel everything out.

I just have to figure out what areas to avoid when looking for housing.

Also, anyone know what resale is like? House time on the market and such.

I notice many have said Fishers is nice and some outskirt areas of Indianapolis, but they seem to have a lot of inventory which would scare me a bit.

Like I said earlier thanks so much for any insight you can offer.
