Dear Indianapolis,

I am writing to apologize for saying snarky things about you without having ever visited. For whatever reason, I was expecting a city that was car-centric, industrial, dirty and riddled with sports bars. What I found was a green, clean and beautiful city! The public green spaces are welcoming and functional and I feel in love with a tiny, architecturally intriguing public library.

If you accept my apology, I'll be back, Indy, and I'll bring my friends and family!

30-40 years ago and you would have been pretty much on point. Since the demise of heavy manufacturing things have improved significantly.

Springdale? Goodness, going from Indy hater to Eastside aficionado is quite a leap. You should visit the Benton House and Benjamin Harrison site on your next trip.

Not sure where Springdale is (babysteps...), but the tiny library was at White River State Park. Check it out!

That IS little.

I meant the Spades Park Library (near the Springdale neighborhood). https://historicindianapolis.com/ind...owland-avenue/

That is one of the original Carnegie libraries that are sprinkled around the US. I am glad they kept it.
