Does anyone know when the new lane is supposed to open on I-69 north in Fishers?

That brings up another question I have. What is the point of the 55 mile per hour speed limit on all of the freeways in Indianapolis? Even LA has faster speed limits (not that they go that fast). Besides to me it seems like everyone goes at least 65 or above.

Indiana law dictates the speed limit in large urban areas, such as Indianapolis, at 55 MPH. Thats the way it is. When it increased to 70 MPH in rural areas, I was hoping it would change in the cities too. Nope. Up in the Calumet region its the same thing. But thats all normal for most cities in this country.
