I'd like everyone's opinion on your favorite browser while using a desktop or laptop.

I prefer to use Firefox or sometimes Seamonkey, regardless of OS (Windows or a Linux flavor). I do not use a Mac so no Safari. Just a few years ago, I used Opera, but found lots of websites are not optimized for Opera. I avoid using Chrome and IE.

I learned about Brave (a newer browser) recently to block adware and crapware. I've just downloaded it this week to test it out. It seems OK so far, but I have not used it much to know if I prefer or it or not. The Brave browser is located at brave.com

My internet usage is primarily reading, using webmail, designing websites and viewing videos. My internet speed is average. I like browser extensions a lot, so that is one reason I like Firefox most of the time. I rarely game on my PCs.

What are some opinions around here about web browser preferences?

The OS defaults are pretty decent now, so I mostly just use Edge on Windows and Safari on macOS. I do keep Firefox and Chrome around though. Firefox in particular has some really good extensions for Chinese content.

None. I was a FF user from before it was FF - back when it was NS Navigator.

But their decision to cut off nearly all the add-ons I use for accessibility and their ever-increasing mimicking of Chrome was the last straw for me. I haven't allowed it to update to the current version which would make nearly all my addons nonfunctional.

Eventually I'll most likely end up using Chrome - which really sucks at multi-tabbing and has the worst user interfaces. But there is little or no choice by now as every other browser is essentially a Chrome clone, including FF. If I HAVE to switch to a browser that is LIKE Chrome, it might as well BE Chrome.

I was a dedicated FF user for many many years, going to back to the pre-1.0 release days. But I started having more and problems with it crashing and memory issues. I switched over to a fork of it called Cyberfox for a while, and it's better, but I'm now using Chrome almost exclusively.

Another factor in the switch was that my business email is through Gmail, and there are several plugins for it that only work in Chrome.

1.) TOR browser - Firefox based, but more secure. A bit limiting in some ways. But still my favorite browser.
2.) Comodo Ice Dragon - Firefox based, alternative to Firefox
3.) Comodo Dragon - Chromium based, alternative to Google Chrome
4.) Brave - been using it off and on for several months. It's okay. But not quite there yet. Still some kinks I'm trying to work out.

All others, (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, IE, Epic, Vivaldi, Opera, etc.... ) not for me anymore.
