I have deleted my cookies in FF, both Amazon.com and Overstock.com are still showing my recently viewed products from months ago. I am not even logged into my account with them. This kinda freaks me out, ya know.

When I open Safari, then visit the websites, the items (comforter and table lamp) are not there, so this info is stored in FF. Think I should reinstall FF?

What you might try is to use the search feature on your computer and search for "amazon" and "overstock" and see if anything comes up. I know that my computer has more than one place where cookies are stored - they're not just in the temp file that's accessed when I want to delete temporary files including cookies.

Just download CCleaner, and run it each time you want to clear out your cookies. It will delete ALL of them, regardless of where they are located, because it deletes the Index.dat files.

I can't speak to whether that's a good product or not, though I'll take your word for it and assume it is. But why pay for a product to clean out your cookies when you can download a free utility such as CCleaner that does the same thing, and does it quite well?

It does a whole lot more. It cleans out all the hidden garbage, the tracks left by surfing, the stored pages, temp areas etc....

CCleaner does that, too...and as I said, it does it quite well. Check it out...I'd hate to see someone throwing money away for a utility when there is a perfectly good free one that does the same excellent job.

Another dummy here re internet connection.

Last sat my connection to the internet with Google was changed mid day to MSN which is okay with some people but not me as I'm a simple person and not that hep with the computer etc. Do not need all the extras they give. Also my connection to Outlook Express has been a constant re connecting instead of a couple simple keys. Always come up "not connected to Internet" when bottom of screen says I am. Have to re enter (re connect) my info every time I wish to check my E-Mail. A pain in the butt.

Have tried to change Home page back to Google which was very simple for me...What the heck am I doing wrong?? Anyone?
