I have some, but I am selfish and don't want to share. Yeah, I'm mean. Honestly, if you don't know what you're doing and want to invest for income, I'd contact my investment banker and ask him/her for suggestions.
I got into NLY about 6 months ago, great dividend. I dont know if I would consider it 'safe'. My opinion on safe dividends would be utilities, pharm, and consumer goods. XOM, PFE, KFT, GE, ect... I believe all of these are in the 3.x% range though...
I'm hesitant to throw any cigarette stocks on my list. I'm sure they will do well short term, but I see them falling apart in 10-20 years.

it is to your benefit to share. the more demand for your shares the higher the price.

The more that are interested, it would likely increase price.
I own KMR in my IRA. and cigarettes MO, PM, also MMM, PG, PFE, and GE, SO.
the words safe and stocks are like jumbo shrimp,pretty ugly and happily married. just make sure you understand there is nothing safe in the stock universe.
just so long as you understand that your good to go. the largest companies on the planet can vary by 50% from high to low at times
