I am not familiar with Fidelity's specific product, but with most CD's you just basically cancel them and forfeit a certain period of interest (called an early withdrawal penalty). There's no requirement that you must hold a CD to maturation.

The only difference now is the Fed has actually started tapering and guiding for an exit.
