Havent seen much innovation from MSFT that could generate future growth, I am a programmer myself and nowadays other companies are the darlings.

For dividents, Oil/Gas and REITs right now pay higher yields.

I program with MS technologies, and they are not going away. To big to fail dinosaur. But I was thinking of buying @43 and selling at 48 in a month or 2 while collecting 0.15/share dividend.

Every-one is using Windows, and they need SQL server and .Net knowledge. Networking with MS stack is also needed.

You do understand that the dividend isn't free money right? What makes you believe msft would return 12% over the next month or two?

The dividend is coming out of the share price so absent the dividend your expectation is that msft will move from 43 to 48.15 in a month or two?

I have no reason to think it will be up 12% in a month or two

The whole reason stocks are risky is because nobody knows what they are going to do and when they are going to do it. It could tank to 24 for all you know.
