I'm nibbling slowly because I sold out last week. 97% in cash. I don't mind buying it a little too early. But only cash covered puts.

yeah, i'm with you. i don't want to be greedy.
if i go all in now, it's a nice 10k bump for my 401k once the stocks go back up to the levels i left.

How much bounce do you see Tuesday?

hehe, dividend payments started coming in, got to buy some cheap stocks
end of month = company match time = more cheap stocks to buy

even the "foreign" stocks are good for me, the companies haven't fundamentally changed how they operate, the business models are still working for them. Share price is transient, so I don't mind the drop in price while I'm buying it.

The trend is your friend. I don't see turnaround Tuesday at all. I see further losses this week.
Next week we might get a bounce.

It's so odd that the VIX is down 1.40 today. It practically screams "more downside to come" .. I've never seen the VIX go down on a day when the market is down so much before.

So basically it means very non-volatile selling.

Been watching my net worth decrease and am trying not to panic. My financial manager advised me not to look at my account every day for awhile. (I've asked him if he plans to use this period as a buying opportunity; he seems inclined to do so but is not giving me any specifics, as usual)

Hope that the market does stop falling in a few days or at least soon.

You are not alone, my portfolios is also down a chunk. No one knows for sure how this will play out or when it will be over but I find that today not being as bad as Friday, as a possible good sign, well I am trying to stay positive and hoping for the best.

To me, there is no such thing as panic, only buy and sell. You got to do what you got to do.

Don't plan your moves, move your plans.

Instead of 'hoping for the best'.....

Do something.

* Buy HDGE on at least some of your portfolio. (25%?) I've had it for months. Probably a little early. But I'm sleeping soundly now. In fact I hope the trend continues and prices get to a more realistic level.
* Go into cash.
* Go into more conservative investments.
* Or if you are more aggressive, buy some GS which is suddenly on sale.
