Even though only 1 in 4 make it to 90..you have to at least plan for it. Worst that happens is you go earlier and leave it to family. Not having it would be a bigger disaster.
life insurance companies can tell us how many people each year will die . they are pretty good at statistics .
the problem is they can't tell us who ...us humans only have two outcomes ... we are the one that lived or we are the one that died .
so predict your outcome carefully .
keep in mind statistics for a couple are very different . one in a couple has almost a 50% chance of seeing 90 .. it is very different then a single because you have two horses in the race with one bet and either can outlive the other
It’s hard to know what to do with cash on the side, I think I’m just going to throw it into CDs for the time because I can’t afford to risk it really. I don’t need to, either. 90% of my money is aggressively invested, that’s the 10% I need safe but it’s still frustrating it can’t get better than a 2.5% return. Ouch.

I would never want to tie money up for a year. You never know when another December 2018 will happen.
Depends if it is short term money or long term money . Except for rebalancing the short term money still stays short term money
