With my [traditional] 401K, I can purchase stocks directly. With my solo 401K, I can invest in businesses and rental properties (which I cannot do with the traditional 401k).
Fair question and thanks for your response TL2K

It's because I haven't had a 401K in many years.

I'm investing outside of it.

I would assume ALL 401Ks have this option, just in case a person wants it utilize it.

If not, what a rigged game.
unless it's a self directed brokerage, no, almost none have "CDs".
they will have some cash equivalent like a money market though.

Stable Value Fund is the equivalent of MMM but I think they are slightly better.

Everyone says timing the mkt is bad. I actually agree however it's not like we don't know the S&P will be decreasing (even if it has a few good days sprinkled in) for a while. This is a unique time in history. This is a plague with oil prices in funk

Even if a vaccine is reported tomorrow w/some momentum gained, it will be deflated by the fear mongering media. They love to report on all the deaths.

If the S&P has only backtracked to October 19th levels of last yr, that is not saying much considering how good it did in 2019. I think waiting is the wisest choice. Still seems over-valued. JMHO

The raw s&p numbers include no dividends so you cannot just look at numbers alone ....
