............to devise a meaningful god or punishment and rewards:
Punishment...the constant pain of burning in continuing flames(worst pain he could imagine)
Rewards...Pearly Gates(valuable worldly possessions)
Streets Paved With Gold(valuable worldly possessions)
Having the creator serve a meal for each one in the presence of their enemies(worldly honor plus worldly humiliation of one's enemies)
The Muslims couldn't be more obvious...72 virgin handmaidens.
Now the stinger...this stuff will go on forever(most suffering or reward that a human could imagine.)
Man created god in his image...definitely not the other way around.
You didn't read the "fine print".
The burning is reserved only for Atheists that post on the C-D forum mocking or criticizing Biblegod.
Actually "primitive" mankind (hunter-gatherer cultures and the ancestral state of mankind) ususally have the most personal, egalitarian and ultimately useful religious beliefs that put humankind in proper context as a part of the natural cycle and focus on real life, not what supposedly happens before or after.
The stuff you talk about is the invention of "civilization", concocted by powerful religious institutions to control the "unwashed masses".
Did the religious institutions also know what would occur in earths future. Who were these people who knew that the Jewish people would return from a world wide exile, and return to the land of Israel. How did they know the Jewish people would take southern Israel first during this return? How did they know that the returning Jews would retake Jerusalem second. How did they know that Jerusalems East Gate would survive the Roman destruction of Jerusalem? How did they know that Gate would have another Gate added to it, and it would be sealed until the prince to come would open it? I would suggest before you right everything off to religious institutions trying to control the unwashed masses. You might want to ask yourself first, how the Bible could predict the future.

Well, Joseph Smith predicted the civil war would start in South Carolina. http://mrm.org/civil-war way back in 1832.
I guess that means we've been suckers for not taking a bunch of hot teenage wives as per god's will, being that only god could have told him that information, so he must of told Smith to be a polygamist...right?
If we look at actual history, the fires that lead to the civil war were burning even way back in in the 1830's. You did not have to be a prophet to see the potential for a future civil war, all you had to guess was when (just like guessing when the US will default on it's growing mountain of debt today).
Mormons today love to use that example to strenghten their belief in their religion, and mormon leaders are always bringing that one up to reaffirm their religion to the believers too. Your example, Campbell is maybe a little less extreme, but it is the same kind of thing. Lucky guesses, vague scriptures interpreted as a current events and even outright fraudulent claims are rather common in religion.

When did that happen then?? Do you have evidence that shows that every Jewish person throughout the world has returned and now lives in Israel?? It would be a scoop if you have!!

C34 believes enough absurd and outrageous things that you do not need to misrepresent everything he believes, Rafius. He did not say "every Jewish person throughout the world" . . . he just said those that were displaced and dispersed would found a nation and the gentiles would come to their aid in doing so. That did happen. No quantities or other extreme claims need be added so you can dismiss and discredit it.

What future? The Jews don't even believe the new testament.
