We know much of Christ's death, as a non muslim I know very little of how Mohammed died. I have read various accounts, such as he was poisoned by his wife Aisha, this I find hard to believe. Another was he was poisoned by a Jewish woman in revenge for Mohammed having her family killed.

But what do Muslims believe on this point?

All we know is what was written in the ahadith. Aisha wrote that Muhammad(PBUH) had been poisoned by a Jewish Woman.

Some Shi'i believe it was Aisha who poisoned Muhammad(PBUH). Some Shi'i believe Aisha was a fraud. They believe she wrote the Ahadith after Muhammad's Death and was never married to him.

Aisha wrote approximately 1/3 of all the Ahadith . We do have a valid chain of authenticity that connects Aisha as the author.

There is some disagreement between Sunni and Shi'i about Aisha. We believe she is who she says in the ahadith. Some Shi'i believe she was actually an older woman that lived near Muhammad(PBUH) and actually one of his enemies.
