I'm curious. Why do Muslims ALWAYS add the pbuh ("peace be unto him") to any mention of the names of Jesus and Muhammad? Of all people, do they need "peace." Aren't they both dead in the world of reality or alive in bliss in the world of fantasy? What if they don't say it? Are there repercussions? Is the Muslim less holy, less reverent?

PBUH is a form of respect accorded to Prophets of God. After all they are the ones assigned to lead us to the straight path and most of them suffered great hardships in order to do that. Its not compulsory but it is highly recommended to mention pbuh.

Jesus is not dead, He is God.
