The resounding response seems to be the lack of integration but it just isn't correct. Many countries have difficulty integrating their minority populations: The US has this issue with it's latino and black population, but you don't see them committing atrocities. Muslims in the US are well integrated but they're still committing atrocities. Is Islam just an inherently violent religion?

Take a look at this article by a Danish psychologist.

"Many young Muslims become assailants. This is not just because of the Muslim cultural acceptance of aggression, but also because the Muslim honor mentality makes them into fragile, insecure men. Instead of being flexible and humorous they become stiff and develop fragile, glass-like, narcissistic personalities".

Yes, history proves that. Islam attracts angry, ignorant, and vulnerable people looking to blame their problems on others- instead of looking in the mirror.

It is easier to blame Islam than looking in the mirror.

Human beings have potential to do evil as well as potential to do good. It is humans that are inherently violent.

Those who are well versed in Islam are peaceful. Those who are not well versed in Islam but think they are well versed in Islam are like unqualified doctors; potential killers.

The interpretations of Islam is part of the problem. Realistically when do you ever hear of a Christian Arab being radicalized?

I don't believe interpretation of Islam is the problem. The problem could be interpreters of hadith and the Qur'an or lack of understanding of the Qur'an and Islam.

I am not sure about Christian Arabs but there are quite a few Christians who have been radicalized; GWB comes to mind. Hitler was another Christian. And so were the Crusaders. GWB was on a crusade when he attacked Iraq with help of another Christian; Blair. I am quite sure Christianity isn't the problem here.

The Quran and Hadith come with Islam the same way the Torah comes with Judaism and the New Testament comes with Christianity. One does not separate one from the other. People who go off the path go so usually based on the teachings within that religion. Its not the personal interpretations, it's the teaching of a Imam of Islam and their interpretations that are the issue.

I said Christian Arabs specifically because nearly all the radicalization comes from specifically Arab countries and not Muslim countries. Thus your correlation to general Christians is incorrect.

There is a thread about this in the main section. I would be interested in anything you could add. If you get a chance to catch that Through the Wormhole episode mentioned it was excellent IMO.
