What kind of boat do you have? Is it in Dry Storage, on a trailer or docked?

We currently have a Donzi 35ZFC with triple Mercury Verado 250's. That we used to keep in dry storage out at Mayport Marine. But that we now keep on a trailer at home, and soon to be kept on a Category 5 Hurricane Boat Lift at the new place next summer. Last week the boat was docked at my sisters house in Ortega, as my son went fishing offshore with it for a couple of days.

Taken last night as we approached the Landing with my son at the helm.

Well about 35 years ago the mayor (Tanzler) skied downtown in the St Johns so why not ... but maybe you should wait till the warm weather returns.

excerpt from Jacksonville.com
In 1969, a state pollution official dismissed Jacksonville as "the cesspool of Florida." Raw sewage dumped directly into the St. Johns, and few people would ever consider a dip in the river.

Eight years later, however, the mayor himself water-skied in front of the CSX building. On River Day 1977, Mayor Hans Tanzler, accompanied by pretty girls from Cypress Gardens, frolicked in the St. Johns. He showed that the waterway could be trusted for swimming after a multi-million dollar cleanup. Tanzler invited the whole city to celebrate. River Day included bands, balloons, helicopter rides, and a yacht parade.

Great shot Madcap. Is it me or does anyone else think the St.Johns River resembles more of an ocean? Most rivers have a certain crest and shape that makes them stand out.

I am taking these photo's very early in the morning, and the wind usually hasn't come up yet. Making the river calmer than it is later in the day with the sun shining and wind blowing more.(the sun heats the air and causes wind) We went down to our new place about a month ago and the wind was howling and the waves were breaking just over the bulkhead (looked like hurricane pictures of ocean waves breaking on shore) unfortunately I didn't have my camera that day.

Here's about the roughest river photo I have got so far. Taken from a friends dock down in Old Ortega.

I really think we get the hint that there is no more foam showing up on the river!
