Actually we did this on our great room windows
We got the Gila window film from home depot and did it ourselves
It was easier than I thought to put it on
You can not tell it is on the windows which was important to us and it really helped cut down on the sun beating in

I had my house and car done. Sundial Window Tint. They use 3m product.

Each window was 60" x 60" and $135.00 each. I did one on the east side and the opposing one on the west side. I didn't need the others done and this is a rental.

They did my car for $100.00 a Scion XB (the box).

You get a 3M warranty and the warranty also covers the dealer's labor. I'm very happy with it and the house and car both are unbelievably great. I've driven around in mid day for hours afterwards and the sun didn't bother me a bit. (Get the dark windshield strip up top for sure it's great.)

You can choose light, med or "dark" but all three in the sun control category keep 78% of the heat out and 99% of the UV out. I particularly wanted the UV protection. The "dark" is not really dark, but in a west window the room looks like it's in the shade until the sun gets around there in the afternoon.

The dealer came out the next day to quote me, was very professional and quick, and sent the installers that afternoon and the car was the next day.
