Please give us the data for this post.

Normally the player who is traded has no say as to where he would prefer to go. He was as much a piece of Broncos property as real estate.

No, normally a player doesn't have the right to have a say, that doesn't mean the team won't (or doesn't) give them the right. It just means they don't have an obligation to do so.

It was reported on Sportscenter by ESPN last night.

Now they are correcting themselves:

-->clicky<--

Excerpt from the article:
"There was one revelation: Tebow said he didn't have a choice in his final destination -- who do we think he is, Peyton Manning? – and that it was Denver's decision all along.

"Ultimately, I really didn't have any because the Broncos had all that power," Tebow said, brushing aside reports (including one on ESPN) that he controlled where he would end up and adding that Denver was "gracious" in the way it handled the process. "I was just kind of watching and waiting -- kind of like everybody else. It was an interesting day.""

So ESPN reported it but, apparently, it wasn't true.

Tim didn't choose. NY was chosen by the Broncos, for him. No player on his first contract has the right to approve or disapprove any trade made for his services. He may have been asked "where do you want to go" but Denver made the best trade that helps them in their opinion.

Apparently, John Elway really doesn't like Tebow. We were (originally) told Tebow had a choice and chose the Jets only to find out later this wasn't true.

We were also told the Jets and the Jags both offered (essentially) the same for Tebow. Apparently, this isn't true either.

-->clicky<--

"Jacksonville offered the Broncos $3 million toward Tebow's salary advance and a fourth-round draft pick, league sources told Schefter. That pick, based on the draft "value chart" that teams use to determine how to use their picks, is more valuable than the picks the Jets offered, sources said."

(The Jets are paying $2.53 million of the salary advance.)

So, it does seem like the Jags pursued getting him pretty aggressively. Sounds like a lot was happening behind the scenes....
