Fleming Island to Bolles commute?
Hello all,
First I just wanted to say this is a great board and I have gotten tons of information from reading your posts!
My family and I are moving to the Jax area in the spring- almost definitely Fleming Island. I've been reading a lot about traffic and I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of commute time from Fleming Island to The Bolles School? We're really interested in sending our daughter there, but I'm wondering if traffic at that time of day will be insane? I'm happy to do a half hour, but not sure about much more than that.
I know that St. John's Country Day School is much closer and we'll be having a look at that next time we're in town, too.
Thanks!

My niece and nephew both went to St Johns Country Day. They loved it.
Depending on what time you would be traveling 295s to RT 13n to the school will affect the time.
295s is the main road from Orange Park/Flemming to 95 to downtown. I have seen traffic build going over the Buckman as early as 6:30 am.
Depending on where in FI you are, you are looking at a 20 to 25 min drive to Rt 13 and Bolles is down 13(san jose) past University.
Here is a link to a map that shows you where on 13 the school is, you can move the map around to see how far it is from 295.
Google Maps
Another option would be to go north through downtown but I would not recommend that route as RT 10 is very heavy in the morning with people going into downtown.
I have seen Bolles vans so I am not sure what there transportation policy is.

Recently with the rain, the biggest delay I have is in the morning from 0650 AM going north bound on 17. It can take 30-45 minutes to go from Fleming Island Plantation to Wells road. Beyond the 295 connection it is smooth.

You should consider Oakleaf Plantation area. They are building the new schools right now. Its gonna be the next Fleming Island but better/bigger.

If your child has to attend that school, I would personally live on that side of town.
I love my house but my commute has been painful in the past 3 days.

Bolles is an excellent school, as is St. Johns Country Day. You can't go wrong with either of them. If you live in Fleming Island, then in my most humble of opinions, it's a no-brainer: SJCD is the way to go.

Ditto. And it's a great school - Bolles is not better, only bigger . Both schools have the proper college accreditation (as does Episcopal and Bishop Kenny).
Though Bolles can provide the transportation, you'd be sending your child across the river each day - it's pretty far.
