Hi, I am looking for somewhere for my soon-to-be two year old daughter. So far I have found Primrose Schools (Julington Creek) but have not been able to find much else that looks promising.

Any suggestions or experience with comparable schools in the area? I am in Mandarin but anywhere within 15-20 minutes or so would be fine. I am currently at home with my daughter, and can continue to be - but want to get her started with early education. Looking for the best options, am planning to do just part time right now (up to $200/week). Thanks.

Have you looked into any churches? Many of them offer a "Mom's Morning Out" or preschool program that's usually 1/2 a day for anywhere from 1-5 days a week. I'm in a similar situation - I have a 2 year old who I stay home with, but I was looking for a program she could go to so I could volunteer at my older daughter's school and also for socialization and to "ease" her into a school setting. It's not convenient for you at all, but she goes to Palm Valley Presbyterian one day a week now and in the Fall, she'll be in their preschool program 2x a week. While it is Christian-based (they talk about Bible stories etc), I really feel like the church schools also provide a very caring, nuturing, personal environment you might not find at a daycare-type place.

If you don't need her to go full days, personally I would avoid a daycare that keeps kids from 6am-6pm, but that's just me!

You should really look into Merry Pats Preschool. It is at the corner of Fruit Cove Road & State Road 13 just south of Julington Creek. This is where we chose with our children. We felt it was the best fit and offered the best early education experience for our children. We looked at every preschool in the area including the one you have already looked into and felt that Merry Pats was by far the best choice.

Just my 2 cents.

Check out Sharing Tree Preschool at Christ's Church on Greenland Rd. Both our daughters have attended for the past few years. We love it! http://www.ccontheweb.com/sharing_tree.html

We go to Sharing Tree as well, and our son LOVES it! They have a great reputation around town. I have heard great things about Merry Pats, and Learning Ladders (Mandarin United Methodist) as well!
