I just got my renewal for our compact SUV and a PT Cruiser convertible. The new price for each, effective Sept 1, is around $55. That's about a $20 increase for each, over previous years.

Shortly after we arrived here, we got our FL DL's first (showed Passports we have, filled out paperwork, gave them old DL's and took eye exam). Got our DL's at a DL office on the West side of Jax, but had to go down the street to Tax Collector's Office to check about plates/reg.......didn't get vehicles done that day though. Next day we found out about the Tax Collector's Office on San Jose, close to the 295, and went there for registration/plates for both our vehicles.
In North Carolina, a we had to have a NC DL before we could get NC plates/registrations. We also had to take a written driving test on a computer before we could get our DL's, even if you had a valid DL from another State.........here you just take a eye exam (with a valid DL from another State), no test.
