At long, long LONG last, I landed a job last week. Craigslist got me nowhere for months, nor did any of the big career sites. What I finally discovered through working temp jobs was that many companies primarily advertise positions on their own company website, not the huge sites. If you drive past or hear of a company, check out their company website, and look for a "Careers" link. The job I finally landed, they said not many people had applied for. It was on no major sites, and I doubt many found the listing! (Still making about 1/3 of what I was prior to layoff, but hey, it's a solid job with benefits.)
BTW, the CL ad I responded to for my current job gave no contact info. It just appeared to be legit enough to me. Of course, I've been responding to these ads long enough to where I can usually spot the fake ones.
A lot depends on the location, there are almost no large companies where I live so almost everyone uses Craigslist.
I've never posted my resume to Craigslist, I don't think I ever would put my info out there like that.

Nothing wrong with posting your resume to craiglist if you are just using a secondary email address and only a email on the resume.
You would post a resume on craiglist with your telephone number and address
