Hey all, I'm a notary public in my state and I was wondering if I should put that on my resume? I will be interviewing for a new position in my company in the next few weeks and I was just wonder what others thought about it.

Thanks!
I am a notary public and all it took was me to fill out a couple of forms. It had nothing to do with my skills or abilities, so I would not list it.

Most of my staff are notaries but were hired before that. We require that they become a notary within 30 days of hire, not that they have it when hired, since it's so easy to do.

I was a notary and I definately listed it, and still do, because it gives me the opportunity to provide my background check informatiion which is stellar and I really am not afforded anyother way to do that. Being a Notary requires more than a few pieces of paper. I'd list it.

Follow the rule for resume writing. If it is a skill relevant to the job, include it on the resume.
This. I have been a notary for years and never even considered listing it on a resume. It's not going to hurt you, but if it has nothing to do with the job, it is not significant.
