I recently received an interview notice...in the mail. I can understand email or phone call but this is pretty odd. Has anyone else ever received one by mail?

You'll be back on here in 3 months asking how long must you wait for an offer letter.

Yes, a couple weeks ago received a letter in the mail stating I was to have an interview for the following Friday at 1 pm. Nothing about calling to confirm that the time was suitable, nothing asking me if I was still interested.

It was for a state government job interestingly enough...

Government postions are very formal and use formal, written notification for interviews, rejections, etc.

Did you apply for the position? If not, you can discard the paper.

Yeah, I figured it was just a weird government thing. Funny thing is that I had been through the interview process for many other positions at the state and always got the regular phone call inquiries.
