Not at all. Most don't write back.

At big companies they very rarely e-mail back. The recruiters who schedule the interviews will be your only formal contact throughout the hiring process.

At smaller companies it is a different story.

No because I experienced sending a thank you email and not getting a response but still got the job. And then I experienced sending a thank you email and got a response but did not get the job.
