Common sense should tell you to tell them what they want to hear. They know you have bills to pay and bread to put on your table. They don't care. Just impress them with some bs answer you pull out of google.Stroke their egos.Get the job.

No one is going to hire you because you need a job. With many qualified applicants, you have to not only show that you are qualified, but also that you want that job. Employers want people that want to work for them. Your answer to that question can make a huge difference in your chances for getting hired.

Reason: Circumventing language filter.
90% of interviewers have NO HR background and no clue what kinds of questions to ask. So they pull out some old favorites. You answer doesn't really matter that much - they're just meant as a way to get you to talk so they can hear you.
In fact, if you act super interested and start asking THEM questions there's a good chance they'll totally forget they're even interviewing you and go on and on about the company! And actually, the interview is YOUR opportunity to get a feel for the job so don't neglect the questions for them. They'll feel super flattered so it's a win-win.
