What the consensus on follow up after submitting a job application? Last Monday, I submitted my resume after seeing a position posted on my college's job board. This listed stated that they would be accepting applications until 10/22 and anyone interested should email their resume to the recruiter.
It's been almost two weeks and I have yet to hear anything. Would it be inappropriate to send follow up email? I really want/need the position, and I feel like I have a lot of the qualifications that they are looking for.
If they have not contacted you, then I would not "follow up" with them regarding the position. They already have your resume; if they want to speak to you, they know how to reach you.
The best thing you can do is just hope for the best at this point while continuing to explore other options.
most places don't reach out if the job is still posted.. Also, even at Oct 22nd- they won't necessarily know who they want to interview, that usually takes at least a week. Keep applying to things and see what happens.
