I wrote a you letter to a potential boss after an interview thanking them for their time.
They responded with a very nice and encouraging letter telling me that I did well.
Should I respond to it with a "thank you for the feedback"?
You should acknowledge that you received it and that you appreciate it. Also it will be the perfect opportunity to set your next meeting since you know they are interested.

I'd say yes, respond to say thanks for the feedback, but that's it! Nothing more. They know you want to work there, they will contact you if they are interested further. Don't badger them and say "so when would you think you will let me know"? And don't elaborate by saying something desperate or weird like "I really enjoyed meeting you and would love to work there". Lol just say thanks, nothing more.

I agree. Unless the potential employer's email contains something that I have to respond to (in the case of a reply to a thank you email), I don't reply.
