Arkansas sent out shotgun notifications. REFERRED.
THEN "Another candidate was selected."
I'm kind of relieved about that.

Move to Europe and learn a language lol you'll save yourself so much aggravation in the future. You won't have to worry about the next recession and worrying about taking a day off from you job and getting fired. You pay more in taxes but if you get a job you'll have it for life and the government will step in if you lose that job.

Well, thanks for the suggestion TAM but I'm playing the US Federal Gov't employment game now and am close to retirement. I'm looking to possibly climb one more rung. Might not happen. Well, I got the job but the hiring freeze and follow-on requirements has delayed my start date. I'm not holding my breath on it so I'm throwing applications out there. Just to see.

And for anyone who is looking at USAJobs, you have to have a job to support yourself while you wait to hear anything. And be willing to take a very low paying job to start off - foot in the door.

I should add, I've been to Europe, could apply to gov't jobs there (US) but really? I'm over it. I do have friends over there in Italy, Naples and.... that little island, what is it? Sicily?

Applied to another MD job. So many jobs advertise two different ways, one to all US citizens and one for Current Federal employees. I always try to apply to both. Some agencies take FOREVER to fill positions.
So I'll list what I have so far:
Maryland (2) Closes 8/21/2017 RECIEVED
Hawaii Closes 12/31/2017 RECIEVED - This is interesting. It's identical to the previous Hawaii job so that tells me they're not happy with the applicants they got and have opened up to all US citizens. If they don't get anything better they'll have to pick from what they have.
Maryland Closed 8/14/2017 RECIEVED
North Carolina Closed 8/10/2017 RECIEVED
Texas Closed 7/21/2017 REFERRED
Arkansas Closed 7/6/2017 REFERRED
Hawaii Closed 8/6/2017 RECIEVED
Guam Closes 9/30/2017 RECIEVED
Virginia Closed 6/16/2017 RECIEVED
NY Closed 1/6/2017 SELECTED
Multiple Locations Closes 11/13/2017 RECIEVED
Key West Closed 12/20/2016 RECIEVED

At my current level, i qualify for the next level. I did apply for one job at a lower level because of location.
i think they are having to re adjust their budgets and justify every penny and position. We all know the govt overspends and contractors screw us. It would be nice to put an end to it.

Having employees in place that don't take kick backs would help. How stupid of them. A quick dime or a job/career?

OP, so you're a current fed employee, looking to relocate to wherever?

What's your field or expertise that you could just relocate and be in the top three or so to be referred, and that it could be done in all of these places? Also, what's your grade and how many years do you have with the feds.

Just curious, are you a vet or disabled?
