I have run across a few of these. The importance I was thinking is that it would be quick and easy to apply for ALOT in only one day and you would save the money of driving around and using all that gas.

Check your local hospital websites, the ones here you can upload your resume and apply online and then follow up with the hospital later.

Walgreens, you apply online.
Directv, you can apply online.
Racetrak the gas station you can apply online.
Books a Million

Any place you are thinking you might like to work, pull up their website and check around for "Employment Opportunities" and usually there is a way to upload your resume OR they speak of job fairs held at different locations.

I was looking into working for a new grocery store in our area called Aldi, they have a listing of job fairs on their website so you know where to show up with resume in hand because the hiring isn't done from the specific store.

I just remembered that while the county offices around me take applications in person, you can also apply online. I am in Florida and each county has very extensive websites where you can search job openings etc.

I personally would apply first online and then follow up with a personal visit.
