Chabad is a orthodox movement that seeks to reach out to Jews and bring them back to the practice of orthodoxy.

Hasidic Judaism is not one movement, but a collection of separate individual groups with some commonality. There are approximately 30 larger Hasidic groups, and several hundred minor groups, with Chabad-Lubavitch the largest.

I am certain Jews do not differentiate one movement over another. but as an outsider I have always considered the Hasidic as the most Jewish. Besides they seem to have the best food.

I remember a Hasidic family when I was a kid. This was WW2 era. They often had meat, which at the time was scarce. I believe it was usually lamb. It is probably best to me at the time because it was meat.

We do. We are all Jewish but we are part of different movements or not affiliated and just Jewish.

Thanks for the info Walter and Jazzy. All the Jews I have known in my lifetime were either Conservative or Reform and never had the pleasure of speaking to any Orthodox Jews in person. Have some reading to do. I dated two Jewish girls in my younger life and was somewhat surprised that their parents didn't object with me being most decidedly not-Jewish. The one girl's father and I talked a lot a religion and I learned a lot about the faith from him, though definitely not from an Orthodox point of view.
