Oy vey... she's always been a poser, and this is nothing new or surprising! Oh, but I still love her music - LOL.

Gives new meaning to the saying "With friends like that who needs enemies?" I don't know if the followers of Judaism would want an immoral celebrity as an ambassador to their religion, I know I wouldn't.

But is she still immoral today, or was she only immoral previously, or in the eyes of God was she ever immoral at all?
Immoral is a tough word. Exactly which sin defines being immoral and which can lead a person to claim that another person is immoral for the rest of their life?
Can a person reform as they age?
She's someone's mother and worthy of as much respect as the next person.

Has she changed? Really? I wouldn't want my mom french kissing Brittany Spears infront of millions...

A lot of actors do. They've done that and more on Saturday Night Live, and many things that are just as gross are peformed on stages and in movies around the world.
I'm not condoning it, but being a performer is about peforming. And she's like a radio shock jock, she does things just to shock people. There's lots of people who do and say things just to shock others, all in the name of entertainment, politics, or sensationalism.
Evidently Mr. Peres thinks that she is a good person despite her past faults, and he's quite a reputable Jewish person himself.
Since she is a mother of children, somehow calling her immoral seems like a downright "immoral" name for her children to have to hear. No one wants their mother to be called immoral, even if they are lesbian. Although it's said that all is fair in love and war, it somehow seems too harsh of a word.
Are all sinners considered to be immoral?

I agree with sun, and wouldn't refer to her as "immoral"... her image was racy in the '80s, but I never actually heard of her doing anything. Especially when you compare her to today's celebrities, who seem to think drinking (especially while driving), drugs, and indiscriminate sex is cool. Madonna really is like a virgin compared to them! But do I want her "representing" my faith? No. Considering she's really an Italian Catholic, that's a bit odd in my opinion... and I hate when celebs turn religion & cultural beliefs into a trend.

Giz, are you kidding? She was all in the news in the 80's with her sex book, that movie she did (what was that movie??) etc. Maybe I'm just older than you, but for some reason I thought we were closer in age. (I'm 37) I do seem to remember her constantly being on the TV for some new stunt that she did actually do, but I could be wrong. I was more of a hair and metal band guy, til I woke up!!

That's a good point and I'm kinda surprised she didn't get more flack for openly mocking another religion.

I mean, if she did a concert and desecrated a Star of David or was gyrating on a replica of the Ark of the Covenant, maybe seducing a likeness of Muhammad or something like that, I bet there would have been a huge uproar. The woman can show up a cross though and Christians are being ridiculous.

Kinda weird and a double standard in my book.

I'm about to turn 31, and I do remember the sex book... but I guess I'm just not as easily shocked, LOL. I still don't think she's as bad as Britney, Paris, Lindsay, and so on! That book was certainly "risque", but if I remember correctly it wasn't exactly PORN.
