The pictures posted in the forum over the years do not do it justice. My buddy has spent the last few days giving me the grand tour. I've seen the skyline from every possible angle. And not one of them was disappointing to me. No, it's not Chicago, Seattle, or New York w/ their 50+ story skyscrapers, but that would look out of place anyway, maybe even an eyesore if it dwarfed everything else. KC's modest downtown is still a perfect blend of the old and new and I'm liking it.

I know there was an earlier thread about this, but I didn't see it.

Best thing about KC's skyline. It's simply "interesting" and all the contrast of art deco and ultra modern is just something you don't see in a city the size of KC. Such contrast gets lost in Chicago or NYC. And it's not just downtown, but the plaza has similar characteristics.

I love the KC skyline and KC architecture in general.

Yes, I noticed that sitting in the plaza, that the surrounding buildings create a nice little skyline itself.

I will admit the first time I saw pictures of Kansas City I was a little underwhelmed coming from places like Atlanta, Chicago, and Seattle. But then I realized I do not desire cities of that size, Kansas City is the perfect medium metro w/ many offerings and things to do that are often only found in larger metros, and you've pointed out many times.

So for anybody that is considering a relocation to Kansas City and is equally ready for a community much more modest in size/scope, it doesn't at all mean you give up skylines and views. Not to mention: sports (both college and pro), arts/entertainment, great food and lots of parks/open space.
