Not everyone is driving from downtown Kansas City. To me, living in Mission, Smithville is far. It feels like I need a passport to go north of the river (ha ha). Even though I live close to I-635, I think it would take 25 minutes or so for me to drive to Parkville, which is probably five minutes more than me driving to Sporting Park/Kansas Speedway. Parkville is not a huge deal. Smithville would take about 40 minutes for me.

To the original poster, I'm not aware of any snobbery toward Parkville. It is a distinct, small town that happens to be close to Kansas City, Missouri. It's a great place and you would be in the Park Hill School District if it matters. I think you need a new real estate agent.

Well we might have trouble comparing distances if we're all starting from different places. I live in Springfield, MO. So when Smithville FEELS far to me, it really is because it IS far.
