Fox 4 has dropped UVerse and Directv (or is it the other way around?). In any event, I know these things happen occasionally but it hasn’t affected me personally up until now. How long do these things usually last? Do I need to go buy an OTA antenna? Football season will be here before we know it.

My local CBS affiliate and DISH have had their second dispute, and it has gone on now for at least two years. I had to subscribe to Paramount+ to get The Masters, March Madness and College Football. Much prefer the linear channel over streaming.

DISH used to list the CBS channel in its online Guide, urging DISHers to call the affiliate to protest. Well, now that line item is no longer onscreen, so it might be a permanent thing.

OTOH the first dispute lasted a few weeks at most, then returned. So it's hard to predict when your Fox 4 will return. I haven't used Roku in a while but I seem to recall being able to stream Fox 4 there.

An OTA antenna might work, depends on your antenna and how far your home is from Fox 4 tower. I didn't have much luck with the small ones, but I also live in the semi-country so nothing is that close. But you can try it and see.

Good luck, it is a PITA

If you live in Kansas City, an indoor antenna should work just fine. Most are not expensive at all, and I believe the best is supposed to be Leaf.

I’m in northern Clay County, but straight north of downtown. Going to give it a couple more weeks. I think Mr. Dokie is enjoying having a break from Joe Lauria’s weather, who he finds irritating but he keeps watching.

You can get a good estimate on what type of antenna you would need and how many channels you would receive by entering your address (or one nearby) at https://www.antennaweb.org/

You'll be surprised by the number of channels now available Over The Air.

Between over the air and free Tubi, we are thinking of cancelling cable just based on how much we are paying, basically for sports. I can see why ESPN is suffering. Now that college football is spread over ABC/NBC/CBS ESPN is almost redundant, unless you are unfortunate enough to be an SEC fan. I can't help you with that!

I bit the bullet and bought an OTA antenna on an Amazon Prime Days deal. Getting Channel 4 loud and clear now. And a ton of other channels.
