Can I find a place where I will not see anyone of hispanic decent for multiple counties?

Background: Grew up in Owensboro, KY. Left to San Diego, CA for the military. I've been living in Los Angeles for 16 years and it's time I finally go home. I feel that no one can judge my question untill you've lived and watched Southern California go from bad to horribly worse and you've seen every job taken.

If this isn't deleted within the first couple of minutes, thank you for your advice.

I wish...If you find that place, let me know.

Come on back to Kentucky it's probably the closest you will find.

By the way...Thanks

Thanks for the answer, I was also thinking the appalachian region of WV. Do you live in Kentucky, if so what county?

You're welcome, but for what?

We were looking in KY or TN for that exact same reason. Currently live in Northern IL. More than 1/3 of our schools' population are hispanic, can't go to McDonald's and get waited on by an American speaking person. Our taxes are sky high, and I can't find a job because I'm not bilingual. Makes me sad and mad. I firmly believe in diversity but really, why do I need to speak Spanish? Too many people making money from these folks, so companies hire them until they're found out. What happened to doing what's right and not doing what's wrong until you get caught? Anyway, we liked Richmond, KY. It's close enough to Lexington and seems like a real nice place.

Get out while you can. There are tons of towns/schools here in SoCal that are almost %100 hispanic, it'll be that way in Northern IL soon enough. I feel your pain when trying to get a job. In America there should be no need to speak anything but English. We should not have to assimilate to them, it should be the other way around here. Are pretty serious on making the move to Richmond, KY? Good luck on finding your slice of America, it's getting harder and harder to come by.

We're very serious about Richmond. We figured we'd be close enough to EKU for our kids to commute in a few years. We even thought about Canada, but truthfully I'm tired of the cold weather. Good luck to you too!

Lightbulb differences...

Here might be your spot for your future homestead:

Brule County, South Dakota - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I will share that feelings were different in San Antonio where the culture merge was more based on income than it was spanish speakers. Many of the attorneys, doctors, accountants were native Spanish speakers. When you went to a Lowes or a McD's, every employee could speak fluently in either language. Sure the typical landscape company might have spanish-only speakers but the dentist's kid driving next to you is driving dad's BMW.

PS> in 2010, over HALF of the jobs in the entire U.S. were created in Texas... wow. Over half of all new jobs created in the last year were created in Texas | Washington Examiner (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/over-half-of-all-new-jobs-created-in-the-last-year-were-created-in-texas-105174384.html - broken link)

While I'm against illegal immigration and don't speak Spanish, I got out of the business of picking spots because of low hispanic population. My best friend and some of my favorite co-workers/friends happen to be hispanic so I can attest not every hispanic is a drain on society at large. Plus, I'm strongly considering moving to Houston or San Antonio after graduating college due to jobs if Louisville don't work out. I could care less how Hispanic they are as long as they have a job for me.
