Can of of the North Easterners that now live in KY tell me what the best driving route is to Lexington? Ive looked on map quest and google maps and there both different. Also, they say to drive through Jersey, then PA then MD then WV then KY. My husband heard you can skip Maryland all together? And whats a good half way to point to rent a hotel to rest over night? Im assuming its in WV according to my research

I am not sure about the driving route but if you stay in WV, stay in/around Charleston. Any of the motels will be fine in that area, although I am a bed bug panic person so where ever you decide to stay, go to www.bedbugregistry.com and check the motel out first. You can type in the address and name of the motel or hotel and it will tell you if there have ever been any complaints.

Oh, dont even get me started. I HATE hotels for this reason. Staying at one is nothing but stress for me because I get grossed out about everything. Thanks for the website!

We make the trip from LI to Lex every 6 weeks or so!! We have a few ways we go, but the shortest by about 15 minutes is I78W to I81S to I70W which changes to I68W to I79S to I64W. We LIKE to take I81S into Virginia and pick up I64W, less mountains(usually less snow!), but just a tad longer. Either way you go it's a beautiful trip!!

We make the trip, stopping twice for gas, in around 12 hours, but we are about 45 min. to an hour from the GW Bridge on LI and only go to the second Winchester exit off 64.

You probably should start with a road atlas!! Where in Jersey are you? I78 runs E/W pretty much in central Jersey and you can pick it up off the Turnpike.

When I use map quest its so confusing its enought to make your head spin. They use like 3 different names for one road. I hate that!
