Jazz in KY will be limited to the major cities: Louisville, Lexington, and the N KY suburbs. Louisville, by far the largest, will most likely have the best scene. The Jazz factory (www.jazzfactory.us (broken link)) is KY's premier Jazz locale. There are a few other Jazz clubs around town and one is set to open soon.

I thought Nashville was Country Music mostly. I am surprised! Can you tell me more about the Jazz scene in Nashville?

Stevie Ray's in Louisville is great, as is the Jazz Factory - love them both!! I also found the following site - might be helpful. Enjoy the music!!

Louisville is a better city for music in general. Lexington has a local music scene, mostly cover bands and alternative-rock acts, with very few live venues. I've lived here for 10 years and still haven't found anything in Lexington's music scene to get excited about. As a Jazz musician in Lexington, you might get to play a wedding or two, or maybe at a downtown event. It's a nice, clean and safe city otherwise though, just not too interested in good music.
