Hello All, Just so those that don't know what the picture is of that you posted. It is the beautiful Union Terminal in Cincinnati,OH. I was born and raised there and still visit my family there, but also came here a couple times a year and couldn't wait to move here . I love Pike County , it's the best place to raise a family and the next generation that's growing. Hyden

Are you completely crazy? If so, then Pikeville will be a perfect place for you to finish rotting your brain. If not, then don't move there. My last relative still inside the "city"(hahahahahahaha) limits, has now had his fill ( after 60 years), and is leaving this week. If he can no longer stand it, and he is native to it, then what possible chance do you have? Please do your family a favor, and stay well out of Pike County, Ky. Surely to Jehovah, there are better options for you in 'Wisco' than in this town, which was severely economically depressed, back when the national economy was good.

Why the Pikeville bashing? Did your female Pikeville cousin refuse to marry you?

The good ladies (and gentlemen) of Pikeville have much higher standards than those who only come on the forum to slam, spam and insult us..

Hi Capt. We (H and I) have very little luck fishing around here..We are spoiled for Muskie at Lake Erie and Strippers and Bass at Santee Cooper..I don't fish much any more, but H goes to tourneys with our son who won a bass boat in a drawing a couple of years ago.. he traded up for a bigger one to handle Lake Erie..For a relaxing day of Crappie and bass fishing we go to South Holston, because daughter and son in law live near there..

We took the family to Paintsville Lake a few days ago and H scouted some places that looked Bass worthy..Said he will go back soon, rent a small boat and see what's there in the many coves that look pretty worthy of a good big Bass.
I'll let ya know

I agree! I grew up in Pikeville area and it was amazing. I come home about once a month and sometimes bring friends who are from all parts of the country and are surpised at how nice it is. Now there are just absolutely horrible areas in the furthest rural parts of Pike County where peoples houses are falling in and they are right next to a newly built home.

I grew up in a nice house which was next to a trailer which was next to another nice house which in turn was next to a well kept 80 year old house followed by another trailer and the beauty of it all is, all of those neighbors got along no matter who had and didn't have. That's community right there.
