The three cities are located in Sullivan (Bristol / Kingsport) County and JC is in Washington County. Generally we have mild weather here with low humidity. I say "generally" because this summer has been unusually hot with much lower than normal rainfall. Winters are mild as well with some snow occasionally, but nothing like the upper mid-west. I believe you will find the schools in our cities will be great for your children. For more information on Kingsport check out Move To Kingsport and call our local chamber of commerce for additional information on schools and other issues you mentioned. There is a full time director working at the chamber of commerce to answers questions about our community....just ask for Lee.

"Low humidity"....HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Trust me, to a Floridian it is low humidity. This past summer was probably the hottest the area has seen and yet compared to what I was used to in Florida, it didn't seem that bad.

The temps and humidities during the summer are actually pretty similar, especially in recent years.

I've lived in both places and Florida is definitely much more uncomfortable. The summer up here is very mild comparitively speaking.

Not sure if you lived here in the 1980s, but I remember several "miserable" summers, much like summer 2007. I think anywhere in the east has high humidity in the summer.... "low humidity" to me, I think of the deserts out west. We have typical dewpoints in the 60s and 70s in the summer, whereas the deserts have Dps in the 10s and 20s... sometimes lower.

I guess we should have stayed in Florida, I didn't realize that the summers were so bad up here.
